Savannah Way

When I started at Appalachian State University, I declared my major—Cellular Molecular Biology. I had always been interested in the human body, the way it reacts, and the way people think. Unable to learn hat I wanted about it from that major, I switched to psychology, which taught me a great deal about human interaction and why people think the way they do and how they communicate mentally and emotionally with one another. However, there was still a depth to human interaction that was missing—a visible narrative of how the human psyche reacts to interaction and how all of that might look under the surface of our skin. When I decided to practice art, I knew that I wanted to pursue this fascination of mine and work toward learning more about our behaviors as humans.

My works are my attempt to harness what makes us emotionally human and they are created with the intention of allowing viewers to recognize the forms and sensations within themselves and the people around them.
